2012 Dance Performances (Videos)
I’ve been doing ballet on and off since I was two years old. A month ago I decided to join the university’s dance team.
Here are the three performances from the last two weeks. Bear in mind, we had about 3-4 days to learn each routine! See if you can spot me
Sorry for bad quality on the first one.
“Superbass” – my first performance ever on the team.
“Rolling in the Deep” – actually missing a dancer. Her knee gave out right before the performance.
“Moves Like Jagger” – our first dance with the three new girls.
Please keep comments nice! We are a small school, and I am not claiming we could compete nationally. This is my passion, and even if I’m not great at it, it gives me something to look forward to each day.

That’s cool you go to Mines! I went to DU. I wish I could dance as well as you, I’m so uncoordinated I can barely get through a step class lol. What are you majoring in?

My major right now is Mining Engineering (ironic, no?) but I might go the geology route. And I’m sure you’d pick it up if you took some technique classes

@sonnigenmai - My grandfather actually taught geology at Mines. :p I’m pretty sure I’ve improved, but I’m seriously like direction dyslexic… It takes a while for me to figure things out, much longer than 3-4 days!
Cool! You should go on “So You Think You Can Dance”! =) (I think they always want more ballet dancers…..um…I mean….that’s what I hear. Not that I watch the show or anything.)

I could not spot which one is you – that’s good right? I’ve been dancing ballet since I was 5, and when I recently tried jazz and lyrics, it was horrible, because my moves were too controlled (or too soft – hands), and it was really hart do turn with closed knee.
I like your dances, good job! do you miss ballet?

@wnb_ballerina - Ugh our next dance is to “Party Rock” and “Sexy and I Know It”. It’s all super fast, super sharp hiphop. I cannot keep up. I definitely miss ballet!!! I’m the one on the far left in the first two (the short blonde).

this is beautiful, and i’m so pleased you are passionate about something. something that i’m sure takes the pain away.
so many people go through life, not knowing what they are passionate about, it’s sad
anyways take care, and keep dancing, seriously, practice more, audition more, don’t give up, some day you may make it

that’s super good for learning a choreography within a couple of days
The videos are great. I think I liked the second one the best. Never be afraid to follow your dream. That’s what life is all about. It’s not about winning, it’s about doing what your heart desires no matter what. Keep your thoughts positive. You will do well.
I think you did very well.
Dancing is a beautiful art form. You do well in the performances, and reflect very postively on your school.

Stumbled on this when commenting on your most recent post. I watched the Adele one, and I have to say that I’m impressed. Dancing isn’t something I’ve ever done, (or could do, since the man club won’t allow me) but you guys do have talent, and I can see the passion involved in the art itself. Compete nationally?? Who cares. What I understand about dance is that it’s not really even about who you’re better than… It’s about who you are, and how you can express that with choreography, passion and talent.
Mission accomplished.
On that one, the Adele one, are you the blonde in the group that goes far left of the court?
